Tomato sauce

This tomato sauce is a good base to use as it is on pizza or you can add red lentils or beans as a pasta sauce, make a a big batch and add some more water and eat as tomato soup.

2 package of crushed tomatoes ( 800 grams)

2 parsnips, shredded

2 carrots, shredded

5 cloves of garlic, chopped

2 onions, chopped



a pinch of chiliflakes

oil for frying

When used as pizza sauce I also put Rosemary and oregano, when the sauce is done I add two pressed garlic cloves.

add some oil in a pan and fry the onions and garlic together, when golden brown add the parsnip and carrots, stir it so it doesn’t burn or stick to the pan. Lower the heat and let it cook for 5-10 minutes. Add salt, pepper and chiliflakes and then add the crushed tomatoes. Let it cook on low to medium temperature for 10-20 minutes. Taste it, and add some more salt and pepper if needed.
